Santikos, a name synonymous with entertainment is more than a place to have a good time it is a charitable legacy that looks to better the community and directly give back to those who support it.
Last week I got to attend the grand opening of the Casa Blanca theatre on San Antonio’s west side, thanks to super blogger Aquila Mendez, Haute In Texas. Santikos now has seven locations in the San Antonio area extending the theatre groups reach across the city. With the addition of the Casa Blanca theatre Santikos will extend the charitable legacy of the late John Santikos who was not only a cinema pioneer and visionary but a philanthropist as well.
The Santikos theatre group, now organized under the San Antonio Area Foundation, exists solely for the benefit of the community and expects to give an astounding $12 million during 2016. Over the next 10 years the fund is estimated to generate $20 million a year which will be given back through donations to those in need (seniors, special needs, victims of abuse, and disaster relief), youth and education, public libraries, parks, arts and culture as well as healthcare and medical research.
Santikos is doing a fabulous job in San Antonio – and they are looking good while doing it. When I tell you this place is amazing it is definitely something that has to be experienced firsthand. The theatre, located in the Alamo Ranch neighborhood, is the first 100% laser projection multiplex movie theatre in the world.
This laser projection is a game changer!
Laser projection offers better picture clarity, better color saturation, and a three times brighter image making the movie going experience that much better. Did I mention that Casa Blanca offers moviegoers in-theatre dining while relaxing in what has to be the most comfortable oversized recliner in San Antonio.
Casa Blanca is not only a movie theatre it is a family entertainment center offering 16 lanes of bowling, a full-service sports bar, arcade, and café so need I say more? Get on down to the brand new Casa Blanca theatre and support the community and the #SantikosLegacy.
